Our Story

Jer and I first met at our Singles Ward at the "Pizza Hut" church in Springville. I was just graduated from high school and Jer had already been in the ward for awhile. I think my first impression of Jeremy was "Oh wow, interesting hair." Haha! He had this long semi-curly hair. The next think I noticed, was his personality. He was super outgoing and seemed like he had a good time, all the time. Next thing I knew, I had a crush on him. I wanted nothing more than to go on a date with this fun, outgoing, adventurous man. I even told my friends Brandi, and Shay that I wanted him to ask me on a date badly! I remember sitting behind him in church and leaning forward to smell him. He smelled so good guys! He still does. I remember trying to getting him to notice me. It seemed like nothing worked. Fast forward a couple months to our singles ward Christmas Ball. Brandi and I got all fancied up and went. They had dinner which we ate and then it was time to dance. Now for all of you who don't know, Jeremy is an excellent country swing dancer. So naturally, he was swing dancing with everyone in the gym. Except me. I remember sitting at table in the dancing area with Brandi. My heart started thudding as I saw Jeremy walking over during the beginning of a song. "He's going to ask me to dance. WAHOO!" I thought in my head. Yeah, jk, he asked BRANDI to dance. Not me. I was crushed. As I sat at that table jealousy fuming out of my ears watching Jer dance with Brandi I decided it was time to go home. After the song was over, I told Brandi I was ready to go, and we left. Jeremy and I still disagree to this day. He tells me he was going to ask me he was just waiting for the perfect song, or something like that. Uh-huh, likely story huh? ;)

This is the best picture I could find.

After that night, I decided I didn't want to have a crush on Jeremy anymore. Obviously he wasn't interested.
This is kind of the sad part of the story where I started dating someone else and so did Jeremy. Luckily, both of our relationships didn't last. After breaking up with our not so significant others, Jeremy was now on the hunt.

I don't think I have ever tried to avoid someone as much as I tried to avoid Jeremy.  Jeremy had been called as Elders Quorum president and a few months after, I got called to Relief Society president (is this getting too cliche?) Anyway, we were now obligated to work with each other. A lot. After about of month, I noticed he was interested in me. I, was not interested in anyone and I let him know that. To no avail. He would invite me to go swing dancing with him and a group of friends, or to come to some fire, or anything like that. I would flake out on him, and give him the best excuses I had such as, I need to go do yoga, I had something come up, I'm too tired/sore from running. Yeah, I was an awesome excuse maker. I eventually even tried to set him up with my cousin trying to get him off my tail. NOTHING WORKED. In fact, When I tried to set him up with my cousin, he said "I would love to go on a date with her, as long as it doesn't ruin my chances of taking you on a date." Tricky, tricky, right? Darn it. I was in a corner.

Luckily he found out I LOVED horseback riding. He got in touch with his cousins and asked me on a date. I couldn't refuse that offer. So we went horseback riding. It was fun. I loved it. Next thing you know Jeremy is inviting me to Lake Powell. I had never been and was dying to go. Another offer I couldn't refuse. We started dating from there, once I finally got over myself. Haha!

After two years, one break-up, a new motorcycle, and many ups and downs we are finally together forever. I couldn't ask for a better person for me. Jeremy is the kindest, most considerate, loving person I know. I am eternally blessed to have him with me forever.
